The Social

I had a particularly social day on Saturday. At about noon, I met up with two friends from work to go BBQ at a local park. We hit up Safeway for meat and beer and found a free grill. About 30 minutes later, another two friends came to join us, and then one more later on. We had some bratwurst, hot dogs, and kebabs and cracked open some beers. Threw around a football — you know, weekend stuff.

After eating, we decided to head over to downtown Seattle to checkout the Northwest Folklife Festival (hippie-festival). It was pretty big — took up all of Seattle Center (the complex that has the Space Needle, Experience Music Project, Science Fiction Museum, and Key Arena). Lots of food and cool stuff for sale.

We spent about two hours at the Hippie-Fest and then went over to Bellevue Square. We bought tickets to see Pirates 3 and then went to Taphouse Grill for dinner. This is the place that has 160 beers on tap. I got a glass of Grolsch. It was very good — a smooth lager — went perfectly with the meal. We got to the theater a little later than we should have, so we sat in the 3rd row back from the screen, but it was ok. Good movie though I hadn’t seen Pirates 2, so I should probably watch it to fill in some of the plot holes.

Anyway, today I slept in and ran some errands. I’ve got tomorrow off, so I’ll probably do some web development work and generally veg out.
